Book Review: Winning At No-Limit Hold’em by Lee Nelson and Anthony Curtis

This is a book on No-Limit Hold’em aimed at those who play in games ranging from small stakes to high stakes.

The authors teach several concepts for winning money consistently at a poker table such as how to size bets and raise appropriately, how to adjust your strategy according to opponent tendencies, and how to defend against opponents playing “aggressively” (i.e., raising and re-raising frequently, especially in late position).

The main focus of the book is on No-Limit Hold’em, but there is a chapter at the end for those who play Limit Hold’em.

Although the book is about poker, we have included this book in our top list of the best blackjack strategy books. This is because the mental part of poker and blackjack is similar, and it is a very useful read for blackjack players as well.

As far as I am aware, this is the first “how to win money” book on No-Limit Hold’em. It seems like quite a good book for beginners since it starts at the beginning and is a step by step guide to improving your play.

The authors, Lee Nelson and Anthony Curtis, have been playing poker for years and have won lots of prizes in major tournaments. They are very experienced poker players and have won tournaments for millions of dollars in prize money.

Although there are much more advanced strategy books available, such as “Caro’s Book Of Poker Tells” by Mike Caro and “Harrington On Hold’em” by Dan Harrington, this book will teach you how to play at a good level and will teach many of the foundation concepts that you can build on if you wish to read more advanced books.

The book costs $32 but is available on Amazon for around $20

This book reviews all the most important concepts of a complex game such as No-Limit Hold’em in a comprehensible way, and is definitely recommended reading for anyone playing in live games or on online poker sites.

If you want a more clear-cut blackjack strategy book, we can recommend “Win at Blackjack” by Arnold Snyder. Both this and the book “Play to Win at Blackjack” by Arnold Snyder covers almost anything you need to know about being more profitable at Blackjack.
